New to QB
Hi Quilting friends, my name is Heather. I've been living in SW Iowa since 2000. I am married and have two sons, age 17 and 14, a dog and a cat keep me company. I make charity quilts at church with a nice group of ladies, and do some quilting at home as one of many creative hobbies. Currently, I am working on a quilt for my Nephew who is a college freshman at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The quilt I am working on at church is a pattern by kitchentablequilter. In total, I've only finished 4 quilts completely, so I am still pretty new at it. Its a fun hobby with lots of room to learn new skills, and practice perfecting seams!

Welcome aboard Heather! Hope you find an on-line home or at least coffee stop here.
We are not all that far apart, I moved from the Seattle, WA are to Peoria, Il just about a year ago.
I'm not being very productive in my quilting or in my internet right now, I've been sidelined by a series of vision issues. Long and complicated story but it looks like I will have corrected vision early next year. I've been legally blind since July and this not seeing stuff is getting me down... trying to do what I can which is mostly listening to audio books and doing some sorting and organizing of the way too much fabric I moved

Welcome, I'm in SW Iowa also, Carroll to be exact. I still consider myself a student when it comes to making quilts. I learn something new with every one I make. I try not to make the same pattern twice unless it's one you can alter enough that it doesn't look the same pattern. Sounds like you keep yourself busy with family pets and your quilting group.
