Welcome from beautiful Northwest Washington! I'm new to the board too, and I totally understand that 1/4" seam allowance issue; I didn't realize how important it is in quilting until I took my first quilt class, and after piecing all of my star quilt blocks, I discovered that the points of all the stars were missing....oops! Needless to say, that was a very informative class
