Hi, there, BluegrassGurl! I'm so happy you enjoy my home stomping grounds, but I'm rather fond of Kentucky -well, except when we (UT) play UK --I'm sure you understand. I had good friends in Lexington, so I traveled there frequently. The Great State of Kentucky actually clinched for me the topic of my doctoral dissertation when it was mandated that all schools containing 20% or more students on the federal free lunch program would have to integrate educational, health, and social services to better serve these students and their families (called "integrated service"). I though this had probably been done before -and in was, in Hindman, KY (Hindman Settlement School) and Harlan Co. (Pine Mountain Settlement School). So, I studied these schools, researching their in-house archives and those at Berea. Obviously, I'm fond of KY!

I'm so glad you are inspired by the quote. I like your idea of displaying it, and I think I will do the same!

    Happy quilting!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm fond of California, having lived in Oroville, Sunnyvale, and San Jose back in the 60s. I have already been inspired by this Board and know I will check here often. Quilt On, too, and thank you for the inspiring quote!

Thank you! After retiring, I moved to Ajijic, Jalisco, MX (about an hour from Guadalajara). There were many retired people from all over the world, but almost an equal number, I would guess, of Americans and Canadians, and I treasure the friendships I made with my Canadian expats. Some were snowbirds, but some are still there! Happy Quilting!

Thank you! I love the quilt you've posted, and I will envy it from afar as I have little hope of ever doing that kind of work!

Thank you! The friend I mentioned in my post is from NY, although she now lives in FL. I, like you, have been a bit of a rolling stone. I've never been to MN, but I have 1st cousins there (they always traveled to TN), but I moved from TN/NC to MX to FL and now CO. I also lived in TX and AZ. SC? I went to a teacher's conference in Charleston -lovely city! The paths we take... Happy quilting!
