Welcome from New York. Googe "How to make a quilt". There are so many websites for information and guidance. Good Luck!

There are some great tutorials here! I've learned a lot from reading too. Everyone is so helpful and nice. Welcome from North Carolina.

Welcome from a fellow newbie. I too find it difficult to learn by reading books; I learn better having visual examples. I enrolled in a class called Quilting Quickly from Craftsy.com and I am finding it pretty easy to follow.
