Welcome from Texas, and best wishes for the baby-to-be! The only suggestion I would have about approaching the learning process is to start small. How about a doll quilt? They're quick and great for learning, and they don't have to be too perfect to be cherished by a tot. She will enjoy tucking in her favorite lovey at night, or it can be hung on the nursery wall or used as a special placemat for the little one. You will start your baby quilt with much more confidence if it's not the very first.
