Have hubby buy some extra "Brother" bobins. They are a little heavier than most and our Brother Machines likes them better than the other ones. If your machine does not have a "open-foot" attachment, I find I use that one alot too.

Wow! thank you to all who replied. I intend to quilt, a lot. I could really use any advice I can get. I have heard about the walking foot. But did not see one on the Brother site for my specific machine. Any advice?

I found the best way to get the attachments you want is to call the company. I ordered my walking foot on line but I called them just to be sure I got the correct one. They were so helpful. Also ordered for my Viking the same way. Spent $30+ instead of the $100 thru the dealer. I'm cheap.
