    Greetings from Sacramento CA. I find that log cabin is a great pattern to quilt stitch-in-the-ditch. You'll do fine!

    I am overwhelmed with the replies - I feel better and I have asked for some ideas - I am not up to hand quilting yet - I will post a picture when finished! :D

    I have never hand-quilted a quilt. Once, a teacher said that if our great-grandmothers would have had machines and fancy tools, they would have used them. That seemed reasonable to me. ....not that hand-work isn't pretty. (I just prefer "done" :D )
