Hi-welcome from San Diego county, California.

Things I've learned using Minkie--I've used MInkie on the top of the quilt and on the back. First I always wash and machine dry minkie before using it. IT's polyester so no shrinkage. Washing reduces all the fuzzies! Minkie is stretchy so it really needs to be secured before sewing with it...I use lots of straight pins for piecing and lots of curved safety pins for basting. I have learned that you can't do a lot of circular free motion quilting as the minkie resists it. Straight lines "X's" through squares works best.

Welcome to the board. I just recently finished a quilt using minky fabric as the back. I had the same concerns regarding the fabric stretching. What I decided to do was use a fusible batting and ironed it on the minky fabric. This helped stabalize the minky and wasn't then as stretchy. I think spray basting the minky to the batting would also work. I included a picture of my project. Good luck on yours :)
