Hello from the heart of the Mississippi Delta.
I worked my way thru college many moons ago by cutting fabric in my aunt's fabric shop. After graduating, I bought a new machine and pieced and quilted a few tops, but soon gave up. Too much 'life' going on.
A few years ago I retired due to bad health. Now with sites like this one and all the videos available, help and inspiration is just a few keystrokes away.
Since I bought a new machine and started sewing again earlier this year, I've finished 3 twin quilts for my three granddaughters and am working on 2 Kings for my two daughters for Christmas. I've been lurking in the shadows reading all the back issues and going nuts over all the neat blocks that I want to try.
A big part of the fun is building a stash and not letting my wife know how much I'm spending for fabric. Thanks to everyone for all the great help and inspiration I've received so far.

Well, howdy from Texas! I'm glad you found this site because you will find lots of help here. It sounds like you are well on your way to your new hobby. I find the board members here to be very helpful, encouraging & friendly. Can we see pictures of some of your work? P.S. I love your board name.
