Hi, I have been reading the newsletter for a few days and I just have to get in there! I live in Houston County, near Perry, GA. I would love to meet other quilters in this area. I will be joining the Perry Quilt Guild in Feb. Would really love to join up with others that would like to travel to the quilt shops in the Atlanta area for classes and shopping. I will be asking for help because I have forgotten most of what I learned about quilting in the 80's. I have only 1 completed project and that was the beginning quilting class I took so long ago. I am determined to be disciplined this go around and FINISH my projects. Any ideas on developing discipline?

Hi and welcome from Southern California! I was in the same boat as you years ago-took a beginner class and didn't touch (or think about it) for about 10 years-then out of a necessity to find something constructive to do, I decided to get it out and finish the (very ugly, I might add!) quilt I had started. After finishing, I got bitten by the bug! Unfortunately, I lived on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific and nobody there to help me. I subscribed to Quiltmaker magazine and bought what little really cheap (and I mean CHEAP) Chinese fabric I could and dug in and taught myself-and now, about 30 quilts later and living back in the US, I wish I had someone to "buddy" with nearby to shop with!! You'll get tons of help and advice here on this board, and no doubt someone here will live by you!!
