Gwyn,
I am so envious of your basic training experience. If only mine was as pleasant sounding. Thanks for replying to my post. I will definitely take you up on your offer for help.
I also looked into the college. The University doesn't hold any courses but the local community college runs a few classes hosted at the quilting store a couple blocks away, conveniently. :)
Thanks again!

Bill,
Trust me.. I raid my mom's stash every second I get. Thankfully I will be coming home this week to steal some goodies from her again. I wish I learned how to sew much earlier but I am definitely glad I have a close-at-hand teacher now :)

Hi Gena: Welcome from a fellow Oregonian. I used to live in Eugene. You are going to love the board. There are so many people here that are willing to help and even tho you are new to quilting, you'd be surprized at how much YOU CAN TEACH all of us if it's nothing more than asking the questions we've wondered about but HAVE NOT asked. You will always get answers to the questions you ask and usually those answers come within minutes of your posting. Use all of us for info, encouragement, support and teach us lots, too. Enjoy your new passion and Welcome!

Hi Gena: Welcome to the board. I'm sure you will find it to be a broad learning experience. I raid my mom's stash all of the time. But then she expects me to use what I take. That can be a problem as sometimes, I just want to look at her fabric on my shelf. She now comes to my stash for the same reasons. I wonder what she could possibly need with fabric from my stash, she says that she just wants to look at her old fabric for awhile. Hey wait, didn't I buy that fabric? Who knows. Enjoy quilting with your mom, it will be a great bonding experience for both of you. I can't wait for my daughter to express an interest.
