Welcome gingerbreadmama. I used to shop at HPQ at their old location off of Parker Rd, just N of E470. I haven't been to their new store.
When my children were growing up my youngest showed horses, we were in Castle Rock at the fairgrounds more than home. Both of my girls graduated from Douglas County HS.

I live in Parker, in the Canterberry subdivision, but work in the Tech Center on DTC Boulevard. So I go back and forth between Parker and the Tech Center mostly, usually by way of I-25, but sometimes I go east on Arapahoe Road to Parker Road and then south.

Yup - there is another quilter from CO here - it's me. I live in Greeley - way up North from you : :-) and right now it's like the North Pole cuz it's snowing and blowing. I quilt, sew, x-stitch and try to knit. Right now I am working on a couple quilt patches for "Patch of the Month" thingies.

Just noticed a Western Slope (CO) person here too. I spend time in Gunnison - have a small condo there. IF I want to sew or quilt there I have to be sure I have everthing I need as there is NO place to purchase any sewing goods. Wally World eliminated their fabric and the only quilting store closed about 5 years ago.

Here's a link to the Colorado Quilt Guilds. There are usually sub-groups within guilds that get together to quilt.

Sure wish I had seen your post before this morning; Firehouse Quilts just had our 1st Wed of the Month Sew Day (4:30p-8p) last night. Even with the brrrrrrr frigid weather, we still had 17 of us there, sewing together. We welcome you and anyone else that would like to drop by. We sew at the Northridge Rec Center, 8801 S Broadway in Highlands Ranch. Our next Sew Day is 3rd Thursday from 12:30p-4:30p. Don't want to give too much of an 'ad' for our group here so please check out our website www.firehousequilts.org . (no fees to join)
We also have a wonderful Quilt Show coming up July 16 & 17, 2010 and invite everyone to enter and/or attend. It's our only fundraiser of the year and has really been spectacular.
Welcome to Colorado, Fran, the weather really does get much better than this in the winter.
