newbie from scotland

Welcome from Georgia! My mom is named Mary, was born in Glasgow and came to the U.S.A. when she was about 5 yrs. old. She is now 92 yrs. old and still lives in New York. She is very proud of her Scottish heritage and displays her Cumming tartan in her nursing home room. I would love to visit Scotland some day!

I am very happy to meet you! I've just joined up very recently...and love this site. There are so many folks with such great ideas. It is just great. I hope you will enjoy this place as much as I have.
By the way, 50 lbs ago ; - D I used to do Scottish Country Dance, was even in the RSCDS...but it's been over a decade since last danced. Totally off subject, but someday...someday hope to visit your lovely Country!

Welcome to the quilting board.
My great grandfather was from Aberdeenshire.
Love Scotland, but have yet to make it there.
I would love to "adopt you" as my new quilting friend.
His wife and mother-in-law taught me how to do piecework, applique and hand quilting when before I was even old enough to attend school.
You can PM me here on the board by looking up my name, and then we can exchange information.
I would love to learn more about what colors you enjoy, and what sort of techniques you are hoping to learn.
Do you want to start with hand work, or are you hoping to learn machine work (I am still learning that myself...sometimes my corners and points match and sometimes they do not...).
Let me know what you are in need of.
