If you have a good LQS, check about beginning classes. I taught for awhile and I loved it.

Why not a block with a family photo on it?

I think your idea of a quilting class for me to look into is a great idea. I'm very sentimental, so I have alot of memories and materials I could really enjoy working on. I'm in NYC, so there should be any number of classes I could look into.

I will share my " beginner" experiences (hilarious, I'm sure),

Thank you for your encouragement. Wendy

Welcome from Michigan. Hope you do decide to take a class and learn how to quilt. I think you will find it very enjoyable. :)

Hello! You all have helped me already! I found 2 sweet
Sun Bonnet Sue quilted blocks that resembled the ones in the quilt my Grandmother made for me so long ago.

I plan on having them framed and hang them in my bedroom.
I'm investigating quilting classes, too. Let's hope I find a little sewing skill as quickly! Thanks so much. Wendy
