Hello from Alabama

I retired and decided at this late stage in my life to take up quilting (about a month ago). After, I purchased a sewing machine, I had to learn how to operate it. I started out watching videos on Youtube and like the ones from the Mo Quilting Co. My first project were those kitchen towels attached to potholders.
Not exactly a quilt, but it is my first. Then I decided to make a lap quilt, but I did not cut the squares. I got those on ebay all ready cut, but I did cut the binding. I machine quilted this one. I did the sew in the ditch quilting, so it is just big squares on the back. Attempting another lap quilt, but I cut the squares. Each time I do something a bit harder. Eventually, I will get there. Also, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. And Happy Day to those who do not. |
Merry Christmas, happy quilting you are right you will get there as you seem determined and willing to learn each and every step. Welcome to the board from Adrian, MI

Welcome from Louisiana. I hope you find the Quilting Board helpful. It keeps me in trouble 'cause I keep finding more quilts I want to make. Happiness is sewing/quilting some everyday:) Enjoy your retirement!

Welcome and Merry Chrismas from Quebec city
I too, took up quilting when I retired. I am not very productive and my goal is to learn and to have fun, not to make quilts for every one. I wish you many hours of joy and at time, frustration but I am sure your will get over the frustration as you seem very determined. |
Well, you did just fine, and you'll soon be quilting up a storm. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family, also to the members of the board.
