So glad to have you here! You will love using this site as everyone is so nice and accomodating and all are willing to answer questions and give advice if you ask. I clip each corner off (not much) and wash. The clip in the corners prevents excessive raveling. I trim the selvedge when I use the fabric. Have fun learning this wonderful hobby.

Hey. I wish I was there with you. Hubs was in the Air Force and we spent 3 yrs there. We had our daughter there. We lived in Yaxley and had Emily in Peterborough. She was 2 and 1/2 when we left. She was married last May and it would've been amazing if we could've given her a destination wedding there and do the white carriage and one of the old beautiful chuurches there.
Welcome to you,
Robin in TX

Hi Saf,
Welcome to the board. Unless the colour looks as though it would run or is old and has a "smell" I don't wash it and I leave the selvedge edge on as it is straight and helps when squaring up. Have you got any shops or groups near you that have classes you could join? Someone will always answer any questions you have here and there are great little videos on Youtube - just type into Google - "youtube" and what you are looking for ie; beginner quilting. You will find loads there. Also look in your local library for quilt books. If I want a certain book my local library try and get it for me.
My Cousin lives in Cherry Willingham, do you know it ??
Regards, Dot - in Hampshire.
