Welcome from Texas. I loved hearing about the fond memories you have of your great-grandmothers and happy that you are continuing the tradition. Look forward to seeing your quilts.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! Here's a photo of my current project, a double wedding ring variation that I machine pieced and am hand quilting. I think the pattern is called "Summer Wedding" but I'm naming this quilt "Spring Wedding" because it's for my son and his beautiful bride who are getting married in May. I'm doing a combination of the finer traditional quilting and also outlining the blue rings in bigger stitches with blue pearl cotton so the rings really show up well on the back. I guess I should say I am ATTEMPTING to do the finer traditional quilting! That's the beauty of this art ... you can always get better. I have so much to learn. :)

Welcome to the boards and kudos for figuring out how to post pictures... it took me about a year. That's a lovely project.
You've found a place where we understand about the art/craft/obsession/hobby/our personal description of why we take perfectly good fabric and cut it up, just to put it back together. I'm here in Seattle, so we've got just about the longest diagonal line you could draw in the "Lower 48" (ex-Alaskan, still talk like one) between two people :) |
