Howdy and welcome, from Texas! I learned to sew, as a child, but when I started quilting, I did mostly smaller craft items (tree skirt, etc.), to get the feel of the technique. I also made lots of different blocks (just something I enjoy). By starting small, you can learn the art, without feeling overwhelmed; it's also easy to just start over, if something goes crazy and ends up completely lop-sided . . . not that I'm admitting anything! Just get some pretty but inexpensive fabric and have fun! Start simple and learn as you go.
BTW, I'm still in the "learning" phase, with quilting . . . but having a blast! My work is far from perfect but no one is judging. :D |
