Hello from Washington
New to the site, I am a self taught quilter, currently working on a tough project. I have sewn 34 nine block patches, out of 4 inch squares, with an Oakland Raiders theme. Now I have to square them up SOMEHOW. So far all the information I can find on squaring up nine block patches do not relate to the one I have created.
I have also obtained the EQ7 software program for my computer, and am struggling through to find the best layout for my quilt. Unfortunately, I have still to read the manual....read or sew...hmmmm. This is a very special quilt for my stepson, so I am taking my time with it. I appreciate any hints tips or education you care to send my way. I buy fabric on the whim, with projects in mind, but refuse to start anything new before this project is done. I look forward to meeting you and sharing our quilting adventures! |

Welcome to the board! I also am from Washington, Olympia on the West side of the state. If you have already sewn your 9 patch blocks together, measure each block to see how much you need to square up prior to cutting. If you only need to trim a little bit, then go ahead and square. If you have more than an inch of cutting on any block, you may want to check your 1/4 inch seam allowances to see if you need to rip any seams out and resew. If you are anywhere near me, I'd be happy to chat and see if I can be of any help. :) Happy Quilting
