Pommom, Hi and welcome from North Carolina!
I too am a beginner and working mom. I am currently working on my 3rd and 4th quilts. Finding time is a challenge. Well, actually I am quilty of putting off housework that I should be doing and instead quilting all weekend. DH likes to do woodworking in his barn and my daughter that's still at home is 14 and entertains herself. I try and get some of my chores done during the week after work so I can "play" all weekend. Also, its been working out so that every couple of months I take a day or 2 off of work just for myself and I quilt all day which is what I did today. Good luck and I'll be looking for future posts with pictures showing all the beautiful quilts you've created. |
Welcome. I'm pretty new to this quilting board also. Really just got started on it last night but I'm addicted! We were all beginners at one time or another & you will find that other quilters will help you with anything at anytime. But just from experience, if you can take a beginners class, you will benefit greatly from it. I couldn't believe how many short cuts I learned in my first class & then I couldn't take enough quilting classes! You will never stop learning! But have fun doing it!
