Well I like that approach, Geri B. Elimination. I can try to step back and take it one thing at a time. I will try and let you know. Thanks for taking the time! 🙂

Geri B! You have saved my day! I took your post word for word and started at the needle. It was in snug all right, but something really bothered me about it. The needle holder (does it have a name?) had some play in it even though the needle was in tight, and somehow I dismissed it as being part of the embroidery mechanism. But I started looking for a way to tighten it because I got suspicious. Took the needle out and tightened the screw as far as it would go and.....of course you where this is going.... the play was gone and the thing was tight. Then I put the needle back in and really tightened it like it should have been all along and...we are back in business. No more noise. It was you who advised me to go back to the basics and look at things one thing at a time and it sure helped. I keep forgetting that heavy use vibrates the heck out of a machine and things get loose! Thank you so very much. I am indebted to you big time. You saved me a long journey to a repairman. - Bonnie
