Hi from NSW Australia
I am 18 months into my quilting and like so many people have found it a great way to get creative. My sewing skills are basic but developing. I love material and all the things you can do with it. I used to make shorts for my boys using material sample books that I was given. A bit of thread and elastic and they were ready in next to no time and survived the rough and tumble of boys even at the beach in salt and sand. The eldest boy is now nearly 29!! AS well as quilting I am looking for ideas on recycling materials from old clothes and furnishings does anyone know of any good websites they can recommend? Robyn McTavish

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. If you go to www.quiltville.com Bonnie Hunter uses a lot of recycled cotton shirts in her scrap quilts. She even has a section on how to debone a shirt for use. For thicker materials like upholstery people have posted pictures of totes and purses on quiltingboard. There are also posts of some great doubleknit quilts as well.
