Welcome from the now soggy Indianapolis

Welcome from Atlanta! The love of my life is from Indianapolis by way of Nashville. The board is great, just ask any question and the only problem will be that you get a lot of different answers and you have to figure out what's right for you! (I wish I'd had that problem when I started learning to quilt from books almost 30 years ago!)

I would recommend Quilting for "Dummies" book. It is really great and was a lot of help for me when I started Welcome to the world of quilters. By the way I lived in Southern Indiana until I married.

Right after Christmas I went and bought more fabric and started on a quilt for my daughter. The top has been done for 2 years and we still have not found time to get together. I hope it will happen soon. I love material and want to make quilts, table runners, wall hangings etc., but I am scared to death to try without someone guiding me through it. As far as I know there are no quilting classes near me, or quilters that are just dying to take on a newbie like me. I love looking enviously at all of your photos and hope to someday be able to post my own.

You don't need a class, look on line for quilt tutorials. Also, there are many good books with step by step instructions. Go for it, you can do it!
