Welcome from Illinois! There is a lot of input regarding sewing machines as this about.com site. You might want to read some of the comments. Until I really start quilting I'm not in the market for a machine. I must admit that I would really like a long armer someday! Have fun:>)

Hi and welcome to the board. Don't really know much about FMQ, just playing around with it over the last few months on my daughters Brother XR7700 computer model. It works well doing FMQ, it's me that doesn't do it right. LOL The machine actually came with all the quilting stuff
