Thanks for all the welcoming greetings.
I must confess I am not myself a quilter, though it is not for nothing that my wife is known as Patchwork Jean to some of her friends.
Science is no stranger to quilting, and vice versa. mathematicians will be familiar with hexagons and tesselations and organic chemists (like me) will also recognise the importance of 'six-membered' rings.
