Hi and welcome aboard from yet another fellow Mainer (in Exile)...You'll really enjoy this board.

Roberta, my DH and I spent a month camping near China in 1999 and stopped at the little grocery store that had real cake donuts on Thursdays....first I'd seen since '71. They were wonderful and my hips REALLY loved them. Oh, all you fellow Mainers, I'm from Freeport.

Alas, the China Village Store closed two years ago when a 24/7 market with gas opened up just down the street. I never tried the donuts but their meats were to die for.

When we first bought our house up here we stopped in there and there were two older men sitting around a barrel playing chess. We knew this was the town we wanted to live in forever.

Freeport and all the shopping malls. We try to hit them once a year.

Hi there and welcome from North Carolina. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if you may think it's stupid. Everyone here is so encouraging and helpful.
