Hi, I am so glad to be here--just reading your chats is music to my soul. My husband and I own a convenience store which isn't really too convenient these days, but anyway--there's alot of stress that goes with it--quilting is my refuge. When the kids left home I turned one room into a quilting studio and my husband built me a 3 X 5 foot sewing table complete with shelves on either side of the knee hole and a dropped area for my Bernina so I'm sewing flat. He made me a cutting table with storage on both sides, an ironing station and filled the closet with shelves for all of my stash. I think he understands how important my quilting is to me. My earliest memories are sitting on the sofa with my grandmother pieces squares together by hand and making doll quilts--I just wish she was alive now to share it with her....but I think she's prepared a studio for us in heaven! Anyway, I'm glad to be aboard.

Hi and welcome. I just joined but I read your introduction and was sent back in time to my grandmother and her stash in the closet on the sleeping porch in Greenville, Alabama. I remember the front bedroom being turned into a busy bee habitat where fingers flew and the buzzing noises could be heard from the front porch. I wonder if my grandmother knows yours.
