Hello,
Quilting has been my relaxation, my hobby, my therapy, my obsession, etc., for 23 years......I love it!
I also have embroicery machines and am going to try my hand at incorporating embroidery into my quilts, or on my quilts.
Reverse retirement is what I call this phase of my life. I ran a home daycare for many years and recently closed my daycare door and retired. So, here I was, still at home only without 8-10 preschoolers to play with all day. I wanted to get out of my house, way too quiet!
I work a few days a week at the local quilt shop now, and it's ideal! My paycheck usually stays there....but it sure is fun to play with all the new fabric and meet fellow quilters all day. Reverse retirement!
Looking forward to meeting new quilting friends on this forum.
Bev

Welcome, Bev, from St. Louis! I was born in Detroit Lakes! Hope you all are thawing out, or will soon!
What a wonderfulconcept, reverse retirement! I think I did that also, but I volunteer with the ladies at church 2 full days a week doing hand quilting. I "get" to make our raffle quilts twice a year, and sometimes make special requests for other groups raffle quilts! I LOVE to play with fabric!
My avatar is the latest raffle quilt, king sized paper pieced!

Hi Bev. Welcome from Georgia. Glad to have you with us.
I worked in a quilt shop once~my husband said I paid them for the privilege of working there, because after I got paid I owed them money for all the fabric and goodies I was buying! I understand how your money stays at the shop. I think it is an ideal job for a quilter and a perfect one for "reverse retirement".
Please show us some pictures of your quilts~we LOVE pictures!!
