Greetings from Northern California. Sounds like you will have a lot to share with us. I was about 12 when learning to sew but never had an "adventure skirt". Wish I had.

Thank you for all the welcomes! Even one in German. You are all so lovely. I feel quite shy now... And I'll be sure to have lots of questions. If ever I get anything finished I'll post a pic.

esqmommy: Of course I remember you from the hexagon threads, you have the bright cream and very dark mossy greens and blacks. Nice to see you here. I was a German Rechtsanwalt, more like an attorney than a barrister I guess, we don't have that English separation between in and out of court.

Katrine: Lovely to see you, too. Wise woman, to choose the lands with the finer weather... I still do love it here.

ForestHobbit: Thank you, it was a wonderful skirt... althougth I grew to be quite ashamed of it later. (Until I grew out of being ashamed...) Seeing your avatar picture, I bet you had your own unique form of adventure growing up. Is that your kid?

Welcome from Westerville, Ohio---what part of the UK do you live in? My son, also a quilter, lives south of London in South Croydon, Surrey I was over visiting him a year ago and absolutely loved it over there. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

Actually that is Alexis my great granddaughter who is 6. We took her picture on the rock fire pit outside our cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. We always went camping and fishing in the Pacific Ocean when we were kids. My DH and I love the mountains, quading and snowmobiling and used to have our own boat that we took out salmon fishing.

Hey, more welcomes that I haven't seen! This thread must have fallen off my email list. Thanks for the welcomes folks! (waves back) And sorry not to have replied before!

fktsewing: I live in south-west England, about three hours' drive from Surrey. I like people here, too. :)

Amma, that's one cool welcome sign! Where did you find that?

ForestHobbit, I love what you wrote. Your great-granddaughter is very lucky to have such an adventurer for a great-grandmother.

Sooo lovely to meet you all!!! :D :D :D
