Smile Recently Discovered The Quilting Board - Really Enjoying it. :)

    Hi,

My name is Sandy, and I am new to the quilting board. I live in very Southern Illinois. I have several hobbies, but my favorite is making quilt tops. The other hobbies that I have are toothbrush rug making, metal detecting, genealogy and painting pictures.

I have pretty well taught myself everything I know about quilting, otherthan, I did take a class on hand applique once, and I did learn how to do that. I enjoy hand applique, machine applique, machine piecing and of course hand piecing. Depends on the mood I'm in. lol I also learned how to ruche.

I plan on posting some pics from time to time, if I can ever figure out how to do it.

I have really enjoyed reading all the posts and seeing all the pictures.

I feel very blessed to have found this wonderful quilting board.

    Sincerely,

    Sandy

Hello, Sandy! Welcome! I'm a newbie to this site, too. It's as addictive as quilting! And as fun! Great people! Great pix!

Hi, my name is Lura, your post caught my eye when I seen Southern Illinois. That is where I am from, Harrisburg. Which town are you from? I still have two sisters, one brother, and a daughter and her husband, and three GD's there. I love this site, I am on here everyday. I love looking at everyones quilts. I do more looking than quilting. I quilt but not very good at it. I was starting to take a class when my oldest sister was in that last tornado in Harrisburg. Her and her husband was very lucky they lived thru it but lost their home and both vehicles. Their son dug them out of the debris which tossed them across the street with the tub/shower stall over the top of them that they had just stepped into when the tornado hit.The shower stall is what saved them. God blessed us with his arms around them. Have a great day and hope to see you on here again. Lura
