Check with the charity as to whether they will accept a tied quilt. I'm working on one for Quilts of Valor and I seem to remember a rule against tying. They need it to be SUPER durable and tied quilts generally aren't.

And Welcome! I know you will love this board. I was a little put off lately with the changes but they are continuing to tweak the new edition and it gets better every day! (either that or I'm getting better at dealing with the difference ;-), another thing you'll learn here!)

I 2nd what laalaa sd about verifying whether or not a tied quilt is acceptable. Welcome to the boards, you are going to love it here !!
