    Welcome from Southern Missouri.
We don't live far from Branson. I think it takes about an hour to get there. In these mountains, it takes about an hour to get anywhere!!

Welcome - I'm new to quilting & new here too.
I, too, know you'll win your battle. Quilting is very calming to me...especially hand quilting. Its zen like! That can't hurt your battle. :)

Also, my very first quilt - because I didn't know where to start either - is a quilt made w/3 fabrics, and I just cut 10" squares, and made enough to go across and down, placed them in the pattern I wanted, machine stitched them together, put batting in the center AND fleece on the back - overkill I might say - but, I'm having fun hand-quilting it and I made all my mistakes with that quilt - so.........it's my first, and it's not going anywhere (its MINE) and I learned a lot from it. It was also simple and not complicated enough to worry me too much. ;)

Oh, and I also picked up an excellent book from Borders - its a Better Homes and Gardens book on quilting. I unfortunately bought it AFTER I started my first quilt - hence, this is how I figured out I was doing so many things incorrectly  hehe.

I since have made a couple of other things and taken a class on how to cut and sew a specific pattern. So I'm learning and working at the same time. Its great fun and now I wish I hadn't waited till I was 53 to start doing this!

WELCOME! (this is a great group of peeps here too!)

Hi, and welcome from Phoenix,Az. I'm a survivor of 27 years. It doesn't get us all and life is just as good as it always was, except I have a new appreciation for everything. It can be a good thing, strangely enough. All in the attitude.

Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl! Marilyn an easy block and pretty in pinks would be Bright Hope. A Google search would find it for you. Good luck.
