    Default vintage machines

While at the Baby Lock dealer recently I was impressed with the owner's collection of vintage machines that were displayed. Some of these may be feather weights. They were in beautiful condition and displayed nicely so customers would be able to enjoy looking at them. I especially loved the very old ones that were in the jadite green color. I was wondering if there is a thread that shows members collection of these and, if not, could it be started here? Vintage machines are beautiful and some a work of art and I would love to see what members have of their own and maybe a story behind them.

Welcome to the quilting board...sounds like something that would be under the forum "For Vintage and Antique Machine Enthusiasts".

granky is correct there is a section for vintage machines here - https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...thusiasts-f22/

There are several long threads with many pictures of vintage and antique machines. Just a few:

Granky & Janey, Thank you for the information and threads to find what I was interested in. New to all of this. I loved looking at these vintage machines while drinking my morning coffee. I think I'm on the look for a pretty feather weight vintage machine. I don't care if it works or not. I want to display it in my sewing room. I love Vintage.

Donna , If you are only after a display machine I would recommend against a FW. They are cute indeed, but highly desired and more expensive than most. Enjoy looking at the beasties. There were much prettier decals than the VWs had. You could go for a vibrating shuttle or maybe even an ornate fiddlebase.

You also need to figure out if you want a base or cabinet for it.

Below is a Vibraing shuttle ( or long bobbin) fiddlebase. They come with many differecnt decals.

Leonf, great looking old Singer! Reminds me a lot of my great grandmothers. Unfortunately, I don’t know what happened to hers over the years...
