I am new to quilting, but have been sewing since jr. high school. I have always admired those who created the quilts and actually used them.
Since having my 2 boys (ages 4 and almost 7) has become my new "full time job" (I worked almost 30 years in the construction trades and then computer support -- and yes I am that old!!!), I have had to redefine my idea of what to do for enjoyment.
In October 2009, I was diagnosed with MS. My world has been turned every which way. Fatigue, depression, mood swings, numbness, forgetting things has become the new "normal" for me. I find that I have some issues at times threading needles, seeing clearly or concentrating BUT the one thing I have realized is that quilting/sewing keeps me happy! One day at a time is all I can think about now.
I am currently working on my first and second quilts at the same time. The first is a jelly roll and the second is a t-shirt quilt. I'll post pix as soon as I can.
This board is totally awesome! When looking for clues as to what I am doing wrong or if I need reviews on machines, etc., I always sit and read and somehow find the answer -- my insomnia finally has a place!
