Hi Wendy,
I remember going to Florida a couple of times when I was younger & informing my cousin from Florida that she had an accent. She said no that y'all are the ones with the accent. LOL I was raised in S. Calif. also & am happy to be in Oregon now. I like all the green & the rain we get here doesn't bother me. Now down there in Fla you have the best of both worlds as you have the green & the rain & the sun (all at once sometimes). LOL Thanks for the info about yourself.

I too am making the maple leaf,making them all in shades of purple,they are going to be the border of a quilt found in the elm creek book. i 'm going to make anotherone for my daugher. love the look

Welcome. I live in FL, but nine hours away!! I love the maple leaf block. I just bought fall colors with my birthday gift card from my husband!! He can't figure out why I would need more material but was kind enough to get it for me anyways!! I believe the one requirement to be a quilter - also be a stashaholic!! I know I am - fabriholic... whichever... I have loads of fabric but it just calls my name...
