Welcome from SW Ohio! I also have cats - one indoor, two strays outside and a new litter of 5 kittens, courtesy of one of the strays. They are so cute, but now I have to find homes for them!
You will love this board!

Hi Rebecca! I once dated a boy from Norman! This is a great place... Quilt on sister!
What can I say about me? I've been quilting for about 3 years now. I did a little sewing here and there before, but I think I always knew I was destined to become a quilter from the first time I sat down in front of a Bernina in Home Economics. I've made 4 baby quilts, 3 queen size quilts and 15 or so quilted table runners (I decided to make them for EVERYONE a few years ago for Christmas--that wasn't crazy at all!)
And I hate fleece. Hate it. It's taking up more and more space at the fabric store. My lovely quilting fabrics take up less and less as a result. If people want to do simple little cut and knot blankets, that's...their business. But it is a quick craft. Quilting is an art and it should not be minimized to make way for a quick craft. Can you tell I'm a little unhappy about the lack of variety of suitable quilting fabric? I knew you'd understand!
Anyhoo, I have 1 husband, 2 kitties, and I'm currently working on a Jane Austen-style quilt. With my own spin on it, of course. Looking forward to spending way too much time on here!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I love, love, love watching Jane Austen movies when I quilt, so when I discovered Jane's quilt, it was a natural choice. My local Hancock's has been taking out displays of quilting fabric to make way for more fleece. I used to love going to Hancock's--it's been my favorite and most dangerous store! But lately, I've been disappointed. We just got a JoAnn here, though, and they have a TON of quilting fabric! I'll see if I can get some quilt pics up soon!
