    like the song says
"nobody loves me, everybody hates me
    guess i'll eat some snails.
short one, tall ones, big ones, small ones,
even the ones with ..hmmm... tails? nails?"

(with grey poupon - did i spell that right?)

When I was a kid, we said that same rhyme but with worms - long ones, short ones, fat ones, skinny ones, ones that wriggle and squirm.

After rain here, I often see my neighbour going round with a bucket, collecting snails for the pot.

The poupon ones are a particular delicacy, as I understand it!

i substituted snails for worms. france, ya know! as for eating them: better them than me :-( as i understand it from dil, in parts of california, there are also giant garden snails that need collecting. i don't know if they eat them.
