One quilt store closed because the owner wants to design. Another recently closed because she retired and another one is up for sale because the owner wants to retire too. Such is life.

This happened with 2 of my favorite quilt stores in the last 6 years. One was in Calif in Auburn and the other was in Boulder City, NV.

Another LQS I know of closed, because the owner didn't understand the business when she bought it.

Our local LQS changed owners recently. It is hard to make a living when people shop online for their fabric and notions. We are so cost conscious that we disregard the convenience and happiness of shopping locally. I needed a sewing machine light bulb and couldn't find one without a road trip so ordered an LED light from the internet and postponed the bulb for a while. Prices on the internet are going up every day too and shipping costs are obscene. Lets try to save or local LQS for cultural and yes, selfish reasons.

Is that the one on Beeline? We have a house in Pine and I always stopped there for my wool batting and usually ended up with fabric. I am so sad. The one in Pine in the log cabin closed a few years ago. I guess the only one left is in ShowLow.
