This began as I was looking for crazy eights pattern as mentioned on another thread here...found an unusual crazy eight design and there it mentioned this name-Anjeanette Klinder blog......-as a site for hexies...so I clicked....she does a different whip stitch that does not show on top too.......sorry but I am on this -----iPad and cannot figure yor how to get the ______.com for this site....just do a search for above name? If you are interested.......

I am not sure but someone had a thread with stitching from the back while holding it in your palm. Not sure if that is the same but the stitching thread will not show. I used the plastic hexes that have more of a thickness to them so I am able to catch more of the back of the seam so my stitches don't normally show that much.

...yes, there is that way, but this is a different whip stitch technique......

I am using card stock for my hexies which also gives me a little more thickness and I too am able to stitch them together with a whip stitch and my stitching isn't showing on the front. When I first started sewing them together, some of my stitches were showing on the front but 1200 hexies later, I have gotten much better and faster at sewing them together and my stitches are no longer showing.

Thanks for the link; it is an interesting concept and just goes to show you there are many different ways to get from Point A to Point B!!

Seriously, use only silk thread to stitch your hexies together. All you need in your kit is white, black, beige, grey and red to cover everything. Silk disappears into anything, I also use it exclusively for needleturn applique.

I use Type A Silamide thread. It's strong, thin, and waxed. No tangling, no curling, hand stitches like a dream. I bought a set of different colors on 100 yard spools when Eleanor Burns told us at a meet and greet dinner it was what she used for hand stitching. I use it for yo yo's, hexies, buttons, anything added by hand stitching. I use the invisible stitch and don't have stitches showing front or back.
