Thank you for the link. I have a Civil War Bride quilt BOM that is applique and I havent started it yet as I am not sure if I want to do freezer paper applique or one that has the interfacing. I tried needle turn without freezer paper and found I am not adept at it and lose patience. In the DJ group there were applique snobs who looked down on me for using freezer paper. Maybe with the tutorials I can get my confidence up.

tell the snobs to stuff it. There is no right or wromg way. Your way suits your theirs etc. I needle turn but do use the freezer paper when I need to.

All the different ways to applique are beautiful. There are different ways to do everything even praying. If we all did everything the same way look how boring life would be.

CarrieAnn,do you know how to do a hem on a dress? all the neddle turn stitch is that it is smaller but the principle is the same for the stitch not to show on top. cut out the piece you want to app leaving small amt to turn under. Now you can use a glue stick and paste it under or baste either one. place it on the fab u want to put it on. U can also do a buttonhole stitch. The old fashioned way is to use all black emb floss but u can match your fab that u are appliqueing down. Does this make sense?
