Barn Quilts - the best part of building the barn quilt is how excited my husband is about helping with this. He will retire in January. (I'll give him a little down time) and then we can start building and painting. I have the pattern narrowed down to do designs. I will have an instillation crew prepared for our arrival and then just take my dad for a drive out to the farm that day. Did I mention he is 90? and still very active. We have seen barn quilts in Iowa, Kentucky, Tennesse and Indiana when visiting relatives earlier this year. A woman's work belongs beside the man's work. It was my grandmother's quilts that kept me warm in the winter in a house with no heat upstairs. What a great tribute!

I've never heard of barn quilts until this thread. They are really neat looking! Wish that would catch on here in Texas. We live in the country, but don't have a barn...only a second garage separate from the house to hold all of our yard equipment, tools, etc. But, I could make a case for a "garage quilt"...LOL
