To keep these in good condition, you have to oil the blades. I have had several pair of hair and dog clippers...all say to oil the blades (I use sewing machine oil). Hubby's beard trimmer came with a tiny tube of oil.

Maybe it is one of those things that needs to be used on a regular basis, i would go months without turning it on since I only used it for longer seams.

Love, love, love it. Don't know what I would do without it................I know, picking out for ages !! Have tried other clippers (dog clippers etc) & did not like the way they fit in my hand. This one is perfect (for me).

Mine does have the place to put change the battery...in fact when I got mine, the battery that came with it didn't work, so I put a new battery and went to town ripping a long seam in 10 seconds...love it...
It comes with a little brush to clean the blades...but thanks for the info on oiling it...

I have the Quick Ripper and the beard clipper. The Quick Ripper is much better clipping threads then the hair one I have.
