    I have been to Bali and seen this done in person at several manufactures of batik. This is one of the cleaner operations.

    Very interesting. I wont look at a bolt of batik fabric in quite the same way now!

    With all that hand work, we should be surprised that batiks are so cheap! Can you imagine what it would cost per yard if it were made in USA? I am so totally in love with batik fabrics - every year I thunk they couldn't get more beautiful, and every year they do! I haven't met a batik I don't like!!!

    they are such beautiful fabrics. i am surprised the designs are not more random. makes me want more of them!
