Color inspiration resource
This site lets you upload a picture or use a URL of a picture you find on the Internet, and it will show you a color pallette from the image. The results are sometimes surprising. If you see a picture with colors that appeal to you, you can use this tool to figure out what fabric colors would go together to get a similar "aura". Have fun!

Oh my goodness! An answer directly from heaven!
I have always struggled with colors and color. I am the kid who got the 64 crayon box Crayolas and never could bring herself to color with any of them. And my friends tease me about having one of every version of white shirt, t-shirt or top ever created. I should be way past all that but I think I have some of the very first boxes of 64 colors crayons made and none of them has felt paper. Is there such a thing as vintage crayons?
Anyway, thank you so much for the site. You have just opened a huge window in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And my quilting friends who help me pick fabric thank you. And the local quilt shops thank you. And the local, small, independent garment fabric stores thank you.

I'm glad people are enjoying this. I started experimenting with more images today, and noticed after awhile that it does not pick up shades of yellow or white as a light color - even on the sample image on the home page. I uploaded a picture of my grandson in a yellow rain slicker and red shorts, and those two colors, which fill up more than half the picture, did not show in the light or medium! A very dark red from the shaded area turned up in the darks. The lights all look grayish to me and the mediums are often as dark as the darks. I'm not sure what gives with that - maybe something to do with my screen. Still, the complete color palette will be very handy, I think.
