    Default Does Jinny Beyer pre-wash?

The monthly newsletter from Jinny Beyer has a short discussion of pre-washing and special treatment of fabrics whose color may run. You can probably access it at jinnybeyer.com Gosh, she has designed some beautiful fabric.

Some of the older Jinny Beyer fabrics were notorious for not being color-fast.

I love Jinny's fabric. It is made by RJR. I always prewash it as it does shrink. I have a 44 inch piece that after washing and drying in the drier is now 43.5 inches. Never had a problem with colors running but that is one reason I prewash and always use a color fastener shteet.

When I worked at 2 different LQS, we had more complaints about JB fabrics than all our other lines put together ... They continued to bleed, DESPITE several prewashings. One LQS owner stopped carrying her fabric due to all the complaints.
That was about 10 yrs ago, hopefully RJR solved the problem after that. I haven't bought her fabrics since then ...
