    Hi Judy,

Thanks for posting. I am new to quilting and this sounds like fun. However, I am a bit naive, so can you please veryify that I am reading correctly that a wall hanging will be over 5 ft long and 5 ft wide? Not sure if I have an appropriate place to hang something that large. And it says to cut the center 6 7/8", but then it says to cut 12 white/beige 6 7/8" also. Am I interpreting this correctly? Thanks.

Yes, SharonAnne, it looks to me like you're interpreting it correctly. It says the finished size will 68" x 68". That is a large wallhanging, so I think I'll probably use it for a throw on my couch.

I think when it refers to the "center" they are referring to the portion of the quilt inside the borders. Usually when you have an odd dimension (6-7/8) that means you'll probably by using those squares as part of a half-square triangle block. But we'll have to wait and see. The think I like about these Erik mysteries is that they post instructions every Monday and after this preliminary instruction you usually get instructions for some cutting and some sewing. I'm just finishing up their scrap pile mystery quilt and it has been a lot of fun, even though right now I am about two weeks behind.

    Hope you join in. Judy

I think I will join the mystery but I must mention the quilt block by your name. Just love it. I assume it's a drunkard's path variation but does it have a name? I would be ever so grateful if you would let me know. Thanks
