I bought $35.00 worth the other day at Alco. They told me that it has to go. Corporate office is taking ALL the fabric out of the stores...at least in Indiana they are. So go for it ladies! It's just like the WalMarts...no more fabric state wide for them either! I may open my own shop yet!

I went to one about two hours away and stocked up on fabric. When it's gone it's gone for good. The store wasn't busy, very small town so the manager measured my fabric. She said she didn't understand why corp was not selling fabric, many times the fabric sales were what pulled some stores through a slow month. She said what she could find out was that the fabric import tax was going up so much the store couldn't get a contract for fabric at a price they knew they could sell it in the stores. Someone posted that the owner of Hancock's of Paducah said fabric cost was going up dramatically this summer. The last fabric mill shut down in America not long ago, no orders to run fabric here, it is all done overseas to make bigger profits.

I heard through the grapevine that ALCO had the fabric marked down to $1.49 a yard. On the way home I stopped and it was not $1.49 it was $2.99. I paid $1.99 a yard last week.

How does that work? Have fabric 50% off one week cause you're going out of the fabric business and then only 25% off the following week.

Maybe some of us should run the fabric section!

As far as them buying fabric...I've seen fabric dated a few years back...it's not like they're buying current patterns/styles.

OH WELL - MY STASH IS STOCKED!!!

The sale was only for one week. Then it goes back to regular price. Fabric sales are set on the computer and until the fabric runs out, the sales will occur on schedule as before. I think it's every six weeks the fabric goes on sale.
