After 2 emails and a time lapse, I finally received an email from my local PBS channel.

This is from WFWA PBS39 which airs in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and I believe a surrounding area.

    Dear Ms. ******,

I found out when we're going to be running the documentary "Why Quilts Matter: History, Art & Politics" per your request.

While it will not air in September, we do have this scheduled to run on consecutive Sundays in October. Part 1 will air at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 23 for two hours (until 3:00pm) and Part 2 will air the following Sunday, October for two and a half hours (until 3:30pm).

I hope this answers your question about this show.
    Thanks again for contacting us.

    Best regards,

    Mark Ryan

That's great! Wish there were more quilting related shows in general offered on tv.

Write your local PBS and say so! The more we tell how big a business quilting is, the more likely we are to see more quilting shows.

I live in SW Arkansas and the only quilting show we get is Sewing with Nancy for 30 min. on Sat. and quilts are only featured occasionally. It seems to me that if they know to have many channels of sports from college level to professional, they could at least regularly carry several quilting and sewing programs. Well, I don't want to get on my soapbox, but I could complain all day about cable and satelite T.V. programing vs the price we pay.

How wonderful to receive a reply. Our local PBS does not show Quilting Arts and I was bummed. I receive almost zero quilt programs without cable. Local PBS expressed no interest and I was shocked as there are so many quilters in this area. Oh well-sorry for my vent but pleased you got results.
