Here's a way to preserve all those wonderful paper craft projects that your children brought home from school in the early years. This paper craft that my son made 15 years ago in kindergarten is now beginning to rip, curl, and ruin. I wanted to preserve this precious turkey he made at such a young age so I decided to make a quilted fabric art of it.
This is a great idea, and now the quilted projects you make will last for years and years.

The paper project on the left was made 15 years ago. After displaying it in my home year after year it began to ruin. So with just some scraps of fabric, needle and thread, I copied it, made a pattern, and made this mini quilt. When he is married, I will pass this on to him and his new family.

Very cute. I used to make cards with my granddaughter's projects, especially the finger-painted ones. I would just copy them, reducing size, and paste on a card blank. We also made Father's Day coasters for her dad and granddaughter, letting her draw and color on a piece of muslin and then just do a simple big stitch around the little square and pinking the edges. She was always so proud of them.
