I did basically the same thing using a seam gauge I've had for years and cutting a magnetic business card to fit around the feed dogs. I did this on my vintage Kenmore so no problems with the magnet.

Rose - I used mine a lot and loved the whole system. After washing it a couple of times, the guide lost it's stickiness. I am using the clear Command Stripes in the small size. Two of them - top and bottom. They work fabulously. Easy, cheap and easy to find to replace. You might try it.

I think a ruler and painters tape work very well. I would rather buy fabrics.

Looks interesting, but I'm staggered by the price. It's something anyone can do with an accurate measurer and something with a little thickness to stick on as the edge piece.

It doesn't stay in place. The double stick tape isn't strong enough. I got 2 sets. Not worth the cost.

I bought this for a gift exchange at my guild's Christamas in July party. The member that go it raves about it. She has a Bernina and has no problem that I know of.

Forgot to say the guide and gauge was $25 at the LQS I bought it from. Regular price $40.
